My husband and I decided to eek out a couple of days to go backpacking. Just got back and wanted to share a few images from the trip. Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness Area is one of our favorite places. You can camp within view of Lake Michigan. Last time we were there, and again this time, we saw Bald Eagles breakfasting on the shore... really cool to watch. Didn't get pics of the Eagles, though. Couldn't get the camera to focus fast enough in the fog. Oh well.
Sunset was beautiful....
And we also saw a phenomenon over the lake that we've never seen before. The morning sun broke through the fog at just the right angle to produce this rainbow effect over the lake. Not very colorful, but impressive. ...and it wasn't raining, so we called it a "fogbow."
Anyway, just thought I'd share a few pics with you.
Thanks for visiting!
